Heartache, heartbreak and mother f#@$in’ snakes! We take an irreverent look back at the most controversial and outrageous events of this year from the Braveheart exposing his cold, callous, evil thoughts during a drunk driving arrest, “Survivor” revealing that segregation is just experimentation, Britney cutting K-Fed loose to Republicans getting kicked to the curb, 2006 was one spirited year. “Last Laugh ’06” promises to take an equal opportunity jab at our most laughable newsmakers and memorable moments of these past 12 months. Last Laugh ’06 Starring Lewis Black” offers an edgy, alternative year-in-review with Lewis Black leading an all-star line up including Greg Giraldo and Patton Oswalt, who plan to rip into 2006 like Mel Gibson taking on the LAPD…hopefully, without the bigotry…or the botched hair plugs…or a blood alcohol level that could even break Bonaduce. Fasten your seatbelts; this is going to be one wild ride.

The film first reveals the struggle to close the strip clubs in Tel Aviv, from the point of view of the strippers and documents the first public struggle of sex workers in Israel, a struggle that was almost completely ignored by the media. A follow-up film over the years reveals to the audience a different and unfamiliar view of sex facts in Israel and of the organizations that struggle with them.

  • Muka obraznosti
    Muka obraznosti
    1990-03-01
The film tells the story of an enthusiastic young man who joins a textile factory in the late 1950s and assumes that a promising career awaits him - the protagonist is therefore constantly comparing himself to his favourite literary model, the equally ambitious Julian Sorel from Stendhal's fresco The Red and the Black. The result, however, lacks the necessary conviction, the ability to draw the viewer into his world, and remains too contrived, as the chosen period has become a mere non-committal backdrop for amorous games.

National Theatre Live: Underdog: The Other Other Brontë
    2024-08-09
Reader, I think you know who is most quotable. Charlotte Brontë has a confession about how one sister became an idol, and the other became known as the third sister. You know the one. No, not that one. The other, other one… Anne. This is not a story about well-behaved women. This is a story about the power of words. It’s about sisters and sisterhood, love and jealousy, support and competition. Directed by Northern Stage Artistic Director Natalie Ibu (The White Card), Sarah Gordon’s (The Edit) new play is an irreverent retelling of the life and legend of the Brontë sisters, and the story of the sibling power dynamics that shaped their uneven rise to fame. A co-production from National Theatre and Northern Stage
